A Dream Worth Pursuing

With determination, training, and support, William is building the future he envisioned.

Becoming an automotive technician has always been William’s dream. When he moved to the United States from Cameroon, he was determined to build a new future and pursue the career he had always wanted.

That determination led William to CityLink Center and the ChangingGears Automotive Technician Training Program. Through hands-on automotive training, wraparound support, and a community invested in his success, William gained the skills and confidence to take the next step toward his goal.

After graduating in April, William began working at Ford, where he continues to learn and work toward becoming a Master Technician.

His determination has carried him through challenges outside of work, too. Recently, William lost his mother in Cameroon and was unable to return home for her funeral. With no family nearby, our team reached out to remind him that his ChangingGears community was still here for him.

William later sent us a heartfelt thank-you note, sharing that he is doing well and continuing his journey at Ford with the same determination and enthusiasm we’ve seen from the beginning.

William came to ChangingGears with a dream and the determination to pursue it. Today, he’s building a career he loves and we’re grateful to continue cheering him on along the way.
