Every ChangingGears client is referred through one of our trusted partner organizations. This model ensures that every person we serve is set up for lasting success, not just a car or a new job, but a real foundation to build on.

Transportation is one piece of a larger puzzle. That's why our clients are connected to partner organizations that provide the holistic support services needed for sustainable, long-term change.
Financially Prepared
Before accessing our programs, clients complete financial counseling through a partner organization. They leave with the budgeting skills to manage vehicle ownership and the financial habits to carry them forward.
Workforce Ready
All clients must be employed or actively engaged in a career training program. ChangingGears is a workforce development resource for Cincinnati, serving people who are already taking steps toward employment and economic stability.

Donated vehicles are fully restored and sold to approved clients
Priced at about half of retail value with a zero-interest loan
Financing options are tailored to your employment situation

Eligibility Requirements
Active CityLink Center client
Valid driver’s license
Completion of Smart Money classes and 1:1 financial counseling
Full coverage insurance required until loan is paid in full
Additional requirements may apply based on financing options
Repair Program
Keep your car on the road without breaking the bank.
Starts with a free vehicle assessment
Repairs cost about half of what a typical shop charges
All work performed by a Certified Technician
Eligibility Requirements

Career Training
Automotive Technician Training Program
ChangingGears is a workforce development resource for Greater Cincinnati. Our free, four-week training program creates a direct pipeline of skilled automotive technicians, connecting motivated individuals to real jobs and connecting local employers to career-ready talent.
Free four-week training developed in partnership with CityLink Center
Hands-on instruction led by ChangingGears ASE Master Technicians covering oil changes, tire repair, and tire replacement
Employer connections for job shadowing and direct hiring opportunities
Soft skills training and wraparound support services through CityLink Center
