Unwavering William

This story of commitment started in the midst of a global pandemic

In College Hill, William has become a dedicated caregiver at the Twin Towers hospice unit. Although he graduated with a degree in culinary arts during the pandemic, he found his calling in providing companionship and support to those in need.

However, William faced significant setbacks when his previous car broke down unexpectedly while he was at CityLink. He learned that only a Ford dealership could fix it, but he ultimately had to sell that car due to financial constraints.

Thanks to ChangingGears' purchase program, William was able to secure a dependable vehicle, a crucial step in his journey. The Repair Program further supported him, ensuring his car was always in good condition, allowing him to focus on his work without transportation issues.

William's reliable car, which he purchased from ChangingGears in 2020 (pictured in our original building), was a game-changer. The 20-minute drive to work at two locations became a consistent part of his routine, crucial for both his job and personal well-being.

Despite these challenges, William remains optimistic. He often reminds himself, "Keep your chin up and a positive attitude." He believes maintaining a positive outlook is essential even when faced with difficulties.

William's story is a testament to resilience and the support he has received from ChangingGears. Through perseverance and grit, he continues to make a difference in the lives of those he cares for, reminding us of the importance of community and support.
