Recent Auto Tech Graduate gets a job and a car!
The ChangingGears Automotive Technician Training Program jumpstarts our students' career in the automotive repair industry. This four week training program equips students with a firm foundation of hands-on experience to help begin their career. Program Highlights include: FREE Tuition, hands-on training in tire repair & oil changes in a state of the art facility, instruction from an ASE Certified Master Technician, career counseling, soft skills training, and the opportunity to connect with employer partners. Graduates are also eligible for our Vehicle Purchase Program.
Garrett came to the ChangingGears Automotive Technician Training Program ready to participate in all of its benefits and achieve the goals he had set for himself! He wanted to learn all he could, graduate, get a good job and then purchase a car.
The June class of our Automotive Technician Training Program was a strong group of students and Garrett led the pack. Being a quick and eager learner inspired his classmates. Garrett used his influence to encourage and help his classmates better understand all that was being taught. With this team mentality, he was willing to stop his production to make sure everyone was on the same page.
Garrett has the kind of fire that cannot be extinguished. He took copious notes when our instructor, Eric, took the students on tours to different shops to share the various automotive work environments that exist. Knowing he wanted to work at a small sized dealership, Garrett did his research, walked into the shop he wanted and applied for the job in person. He got the job and now works for Joseph Volkswagen of Cincinnati.
After just a few weeks at his new job, Garrett came back to ChangingGears to purchase his own vehicle and of course was one the cars the students had worked on with their own hands during Automotive Technician Training. Garrett got a ride from his mom everyday for training and was ready to gain the sense of freedom and independence private transportation affords.
Now Garrett has graduated from the ChangingGears Automotive Technician Training Program, started his new job at Joseph Volkswagen of Cincinnati and purchased his own car. The sky's the limit for this student turned client and we couldn’t be more excited for him.
