90 Days and Counting!

Markeith knew he wanted to learn a trade so he could contribute more to society than the odd jobs he had worked in the past.

Markeith reached a point in his life when he realized that he needed more. He had worked some different jobs in different cities, but they all felt unfulfilling. One day when he was going to a temp agency to look for a new job, he ran into his friend who recommended CityLink. 

He reached out to CityLink that same day and found out about the ChangingGears Automotive Technician Training Program. 

Markeith knew he wanted to learn a trade so he could contribute more to society than the odd jobs he had worked in the past. Then it clicked. He was in the garage with our trainer Eric and his classmates and got this strong feeling that this was going to work! Markeith is hungry and ready to grow and ready to break the cycle. 

He graduated from Automotive Technician Training and got a job at Performance Kings Honda in Mason. Today is Markeith’s 90th day at his new job and he couldn’t be happier. He likes being in the shop where everyday is a new experience. 

It’s been hard work to make a change, but Markeith showed up and worked hard! He found out about an opportunity and he went for it, completed training, got a new job and keeps showing up and working hard! His story is encouraging and he says, “Keep going, don’t give up on yourself. Be yourself - want it for you, not for anyone else.”
