Jade was busy making her son, Bryson, a french toast breakfast while we were discussing her story. This is a hard working mom who is currently living her best life.

Two months ago, Jade came from Houston, Texas just to visit her son in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her friend recommended checking out CityLink while she was here. Jade got connected there right away and met with Michelle from Smart Money. Michelle helped Jade with some financial training and encouraged her to check out ChangingGears!

It was like Jade was meant to stay in Cincinnati when she got her job at the US Post Office which felt like breakthrough. This is the same job here that she had been applying for and not getting in Houston. Jade is determined to create a beautiful life for sweet Bryson. She has already built a strong relationship with her supervisor which has led to some flexibility in her schedule which has been so good for her motherhood.

Seven months in her new job and a place to stay with Bryson and his grandparents, Jade was ready for ChangingGears! She did not want any car payments so Jade paid for her car in full the day she purchased it. We love to celebrate our clients when we hand them the keys to their car and down the road when they pay off their vehicle, but this client did both of those things in one day! She has a plan and she’s so focused, you can see it a mile away.

Jade loves the mission of CityLink and eventually wants to have her own non-profit where she can help others in her situation. “I came here so Bryson could feel more connected with his family and I’m the one who feels like I have a family for the first time”, Jade shared.
